The 5th TPM meeting, which is the closing meeting of the Shepherd Bridge project carried out within the scope of Erasmus+ Program under the coordination of Burdur Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, was held on September 29, 2022 in the meeting room of the Burdur Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. Project coordinator Veli PEKSÜSLÜ, in the opening speech of the meeting; He said, “The Shepherd Bridge project started in 2019 and the project has come to this day with great self-sacrifice work together with the partners.” Referring to the project activities, PEKSÜSLÜ said, “With the efforts of all partners, they prepared booklets to guide the shepherds in their profession and took the Burdur female shepherds to Serbia and Greece for training within the scope of the project. They have ideas,” he said.
PEKSÜSLÜ continued his words by saying that we could not have done any of these without our valuable shepherds, and thanked our shepherds and everyone who contributed to the project, and said that they would continue to carry out new projects.
Shepherd Sümeyra KORKMAZ, who went to Thessaloniki, Greece within the scope of the project, said, “She is very happy to be a part of this project, the shepherd’s profession is difficult but not difficult because she does it with love, she is very happy. He said that although he has a job where he has to work day and night, he participated in the project with the support of his wife and this project created awareness in him thanks to the trainings he received there, the facilities he saw and the work done. people he knows.
Mehmet TUGRUL, Burdur Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry; While thanking the guests who came to the closing meeting and everyone who contributed to the project, it is very important and valuable for us that the project is a very important project for the institution, that valuable shepherds went abroad thanks to the project, and the professional exchange of ideas between our country and other foreign shepherds. Also TUGRUL; On the occasion of the project, he said that working in harmony with our other institutions is an exemplary project in terms of the continuity of these projects.
Hüseyin DALGAR, Vice Rector of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University; There are nearly 40 projects we have carried out in the field of animal husbandry for 5 years. In addition, there are many trainings given by our teachers to our farmers in our villages. In addition to education and research, which are the main duties of our university, we are the university that the state has given a special mission to our region in terms of contributing to the development of the region in a certain area. We are very satisfied with this prospect and are constantly working with our farmers and institutions to see if we can do more. We would like to thank our Veterinary Faculty teachers who took part in our joint work with one of them and our provincial directorate in this project, our Provincial Director for their support and the other project team. As a university, we will continue to work in cooperation with these activities, organizations and institutions. We know that our shepherds have a difficult job, but let them continue to produce, we are always with them. As a university, we are always ready financially and morally.”
The first half of the first day of the meeting program, which started with the participation of esteemed representatives of the protocol and other guests; While the protocol representatives ended with the distribution of certificates to the shepherds who went abroad with the project training activity; in the other half of the day; The project ended with the meeting of Turkish and Foreign partners to evaluate the final works.
The meeting program ended on the 2nd day by visiting the ancient city of Kibyra in Gölhisar, the sheep and goat farm in Gölhisar and Salda Lake in Yeşilova with the guests.
